Arlene started her career in telecommunications where she worked as manager for Worldcom.  In 1996 she left Worldcom to find Voice & Data Group during the deregulation of the phone industry. Arlene grew Voice & Data Group to be the largest distributor for Ameritech (now AT&T) in the Chicago area reaching over $150 million in an 18-month period. Shortly after, Arlene ventured into the health care business where she built and developed a dialysis center then merged it with an existing center under the name Diamond Dialysis. Within a year of opening the center she negotiated the sale to DaVita, a $13 billion public dialysis operator. Arlene went on to design and develop a specialty surgical hospital in Beaumont, Texas whom she partnered with Bob Helms founder of a system of hospitals under Victory Healthcare.  Victory Beaumont was then sold to IASIS Healthcare, headquartered in Nashville. Arlene owns and operates four procedure centers in Texas. For the last 15 years, she operates a medical management company, medical billing company and medical lien funding company.
